Spotlight Funds Eligibility: Mic & Camera Requirement

Updated over 2 weeks ago

To keep Spotlight Funds fair and community-driven, only actively interactive streams are eligible to earn Spotlight Fund rewards.

This policy applies only to Spotlight Fund eligibility, you can still stream on Blaze without meeting these requirements, but incentives depend on interaction.

Mic or Camera Requirement

To be eligible for Spotlight Funds, your stream must include at least one of the following:

  • An active microphone, or

  • An active camera

What “Active” Means for Eligibility

For Spotlight eligibility, “active” means:

  • You speak and engage with chat during the stream

  • Your presence is consistent and clearly live

  • Viewers can interact with you in real time

Short breaks are fine.

Extended silence, idle time, or absence is not.

Streams That Are Not Eligible for Spotlight Funds

The following may be excluded from Spotlight Fund incentives:

  • AFK or unattended streams

  • Silent gameplay with no mic or cam

  • Long overlay / starting screens with only music

  • Looping or automated content

  • Streams where chat interaction is repeatedly ignored

These streams may still appear on Blaze, but they won’t qualify for incentives.

Why This Is Required for Spotlight Funds

Spotlight Funds are powered by the community.

They are designed to reward streamers who:

  • Show up live

  • Engage their audience

  • Build real communities

This rule protects creators who actively contribute and prevents abuse of incentive systems.

What Happens If a Stream Doesn’t Meet Eligibility?

If a stream does not meet mic or camera requirements:

  • The stream may be ineligible for Spotlight Fund rewards

  • Votes may not count toward incentives

  • Eligibility can be restored once requirements are met

This is evaluated reasonably and over time, not based on single moments.
