Vote Resets Explained

Updated over a month ago

Votes on Blaze are locked per epoch and are no longer reset by user actions such as unstaking.

However, there are still specific system-level cases where votes may be cleared.

When Votes Can Reset

1) New Epoch Start (Automatic Reset)

At the start of each new epoch:

  • All vote allocations reset automatically

  • You must submit new votes to participate in the new epoch

  • Previous epoch votes do not carry forward

This ensures each epoch starts with a clean and fair distribution.

2) Streamer Becomes Unverified

Only Verified Streamers are eligible to receive votes.

If a streamer you voted for becomes Unverified during an epoch:

  • Votes assigned to that streamer are removed

  • The affected voting power becomes unallocated

  • You may reassign those votes to other eligible streamers (if voting is still open)

Important Clarifications

  • ❌ Votes do not reset when passes are used for voting

  • ❌ Passes used for voting cannot be unstaked during the epoch

  • ❌ Votes cannot be manually reset or reduced

Once votes are submitted, they remain locked unless one of the system cases above applies.

What to Do After a Reset

If votes are cleared due to a new epoch or streamer eligibility change:

  1. Go to Voting

  2. Review your available voting power

  3. Assign votes to eligible Verified Streamers

  4. Submit before the lock window begins
